š§” Your Monday Morning Happiness Prompt
Honouring Your Body Like the Temple it is
Good morning, beautiful souls! š
Your Monday Morning happiness prompt this week is a gentle reminder to connect once again to our bodies. Our incredible, resilient, sometimes fragile, always powerful bodies. Yes, you body is a temple; a sacred space, of course, but itās also a physical structure that can be worn down, get weathered by storms. Like a beautiful temple, sitting proudly on top of a mountain, the winds, rain, snow, hail and sun all take their toll.
Our āweatherā is our pain, fatigue, overthinking, bloating, stress, anxiety, bladder issues, bleeding (I could go on)⦠and when our bodies (our temples) are being battered by it all, it takes a toll. We get stuck in cycles ā maybe a symptom flares up, and it becomes a constant reminder, poking at our patience and resilience. Maybe we have to cancel a night out with friends because weāre struggling. Maybe weāre reminded of something we canāt do anymore because our symptoms are just too much. Our symptom becomes a trigger for more anxiety, stress, pain even. And that can feel like your mind and body are ganging up on you, creating this loop of pain and frustration that feels unbreakable.
But here's the thing: thatās not the whole story.
The Infinite Power of Healing and Growth
Our bodies are fragile in many ways, but theyāre also amazingly resilient. Just like that temple, we can withstand storms. We can keep out even the strongest of winds. And we can weather the fiercest of hailstorms.
Our bodies have this quiet, powerful ability to heal, adapt, and recover. We may not always feel in control, especially when life throws curveballs, stresses, or emotional pain, or our psychical symptoms, but we always have an innate capacity to heal and grow. And that, my beautiful sisters, is our strength. Our power.
Itās not always easy to remember, but healing and resilience are always there, just waiting for us to reconnect.
Honour your power
Honouring our bodies means recognising that they need care, kindness, and patience. Sometimes, we need to break that cycle of stress and symptoms by giving ourselves permission to rest, to say ānoā when we need to, and to find moments of joy or stillness. And sometimes our temples need a little DIY (sometimes they need some full-on refurbishment!). So book the massage, or the acupuncture session. Go and see your homeopath or hypnotherapist. Or bite the bullet and phone your consultant for that chat. These little acts arenāt just nice things to do ā theyāre how we take back control, how we honour our bodies as the temples they are and how we support that self-healing superpower to step up.
So, if youāve been feeling worn down or a bit fragile lately, take a moment today to acknowledge both your strength and your sensitivity. Yes, you may need a bit of TLC. You may need to schedule in a little bit of DIY. Or you may even need to call in the big-guns for some heaver-duty repairs. But your body is still your temple. Itās still the structure that keeps you safe - protected, by and large, against the storms. Honour it. And give it the love and care it needs to maintain that gorgeous balance of fragile and strong.
So, as with every week, I invite you to pick a Word of Your Week to reflect the reflection and reaction that the Happiness Prompt evokes. A word that youāll embody this week - consider it in the choices and decisions you make, honour it in your actions and come back to it when you need motivation. What will your word this week be?
