Thank you for this insight. Great reflection prompts in this article. I believe a reframe makes our mindset so much more resilient. Versatile. Thoughts can lead to care in the way it shows up best. I especially loved your comment about friendship and treating oneself like a caring friend. Vs the natural moment of beating yourself up.
I want to add that when self-care becomes another checkbox to mark off, a "to-do" item, it can cease to function as a restorative and become instead just another task that needs to "get done." That robs you of the joy in the act, and that feels worse than not even having the practice in your life in the first place.
Really like this! So important to note that self-care is only meaningful if it's adaptable to the needs of the individual at that particular moment in time
So on point. I’ve been struggling with burnout and self care seemed more like a chore than actual care the last few months. Finally took a break so I can focus on me and do the things I want to do instead of only doing things I “need” to do.

Sometimes the hardest part of self-care
is believing you deserve it.
Tell me about it… it’s managing yourself because you think something is wrong with what is.
That’s not self love at all.

The moment self-care starts feeling like another way to earn your worth, it stops being care. It becomes pressure in a wellness disguise.
